This one day workshop will look at how organisations develop and plan and the importance of having a clear strategic direction. It will also consider some of the problems that small non-profit organisations have in being strategic and planning ahead and suggest how these issues can be tackled.

Participants will work on a range of tools and techniques that can be used for drawing up and presenting a realistic plan, as well as receiving tips on how to lead the planning process and how trustees, volunteers and others can play a part in developing the plan.

The training is aimed at individuals that are involved in planning the future direction and strategy of their organisation and will be particularly useful for anyone from small or emerging organisations who are yet to formalise their ideas into a cohesive and realistic business plan.

The workshop will be delivered in partnership with the Directory of Social Change, an independent charity with a vision to bring about positive social change by championing the needs of small and medium voluntary organisations but providing practical training, running conferences and seminars, conducting research into the sector and publishing reference guides and handbooks.
