Nepal: From Horror to Hope

Nepal Earthquake Briefing

In April 2015 a catastrophic earthquake struck Nepal killing thousands of people and injuring tens of thousands more.

The terrible pictures on our television screens led to widespread international support. World Jewish Relief, the British Jewish community's response to international disasters, launched an emergency appeal raising close to £500,000.

Two months on, we will go behind the scenes and learn more about the country and the devastating impact the earthquake had. What challenges have aid workers faced and what work still needs to be done?

What: A free evening sponsored by Pears Foundation where we will get an eye-witness account from Josh Simons, our Senior Programmes Manager, who is part of the international relief effort in Kathmandu. A leading expert on Nepal will also give an overview of the ongoing situation.

This is a free event and there will be no appeal.
